אחד המשפטים המרכזיים בהגדה של פסח (מקורה: במשנת פסחים) הוא:
חשבתי
שב"פסח" עלינו להתייחס על היותינו ניצולים, כאשר יש , לצערינו מי שלא זכה לכך.
ב"מצה", עלינו לשאול עצמנו אם אנחנו "ממצים" את חירותינו כלפי עצמנו וכלפי זולתינו.
וב"מרור": האם הזיכרון של מירור חיינו ע"י אחרים מזכיר לנו שאל לנו למרר חייהם של אחרים?

During the Seder, we have to tell the story of Yetziat Mizrayim. We have many occasions to "remember" Yetziat Mizrayim, the Exodus.
Consistently, when the Torah reminds us to remember that we have been slaves in Egypt and that we have been liberated, this reminder always involves an ethical obligation towards the underprivileged (widows, orphans, workers and strangers); this reminds us that all people are born to be free and to live with dignity.
Telling the story during this night should help us liberate ourselves from Mitzrayim –Metzarim(straits)and enhance our consciousness and memory about human freedom and dignity.
